The requests library uses MD5 and SHA-1 hashing algorithms in HTTP Digest Authentication implementation. However, all instances explicitly set usedforsecurity=False, indicating these are used for protocol compatibility rather than cryptographic security. The quantum threat risk is low since Digest Auth itself is a legacy protocol with limited security guarantees.
