Terms of Service
QuantumScan is a free, publicly available service. These terms cover how you can use it.
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. The service
QuantumScan is a GitHub App, GitLab/Bitbucket integration, and web app that scans repositories and pull requests for quantum-vulnerable cryptography (RSA, ECDSA, DSA, SHA-1, DES, etc.) and reports findings with NIST PQC migration guidance. The service is free and open to any account on GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket — no invitation or partnership agreement is required.
2. Open-source core
The scanner core is MIT-licensed and published on GitHub. You may run it independently of our hosted service, fork it, or self-host it under the terms of that license.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to scan repositories you do not have permission to access.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the hosted service in ways that degrade it for other users.
- Resell or rebrand the hosted service without written permission (the open-source core may be reused under its MIT license).
4. Availability and support
QuantumScan is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and scheduled maintenance or third-party outages (GitHub, hosting, or AI providers) may affect the service temporarily. There is no formal SLA.
5. Data and privacy
How we collect, process, and store data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
6. Disclaimer of warranty
QuantumScan is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Findings are advisory: they help you locate potentially quantum-vulnerable cryptography, but they do not guarantee completeness or replace a professional security audit.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuantumScan and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including reliance on scan results.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above and announced on our changelog.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Guatemala, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
